MEET OUR VETERINARIAN

COLLEEN McCOY, DVM

Dr. Colleen McCoy grew up in rural western Washington, where she participated in 4H and FFA, raised Hampshire sheep and Alpine goats, worked on a thoroughbred breeding farm, and spent much of her free time trail riding with her appaloosa mare, Gypsy.After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, she completed an internship at Equine Medical Associates, a large equine referral hospital near Oklahoma City. She works with large animals, and especially loves horses, alpacas and goats.

In her spare time, Dr. McCoy volunteers her time with World Vets, helping animals in developing countries around the world. So far she has been to Cambodia, Tanzania, Belize, Mongolia, Ecuador, Honduras, and St. Eustatius. She also enjoys scuba diving, soccer, cooking, and sci-fi movies. She and her husband Mike live in Mesa with their menagerie of adopted animals. Dr. McCoy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.
